What are you waiting for?

What Are You Waiting For!  I know it sounds like something we’ve all said while experiencing Road Rage and that person is driving way too slow or won’t make that turn!

But what if we look at the phrase differently?  Are you like me and tend to wait way too long on things in your life?  I have lost count of the opportunities and times I have missed because of fear or anxiety.  Is it the right time, I’m just not sure, all the while waiting in that turning lane while those chances whirl on by me.

Or perhaps, as I was reminded of at the conference I recently attended, you are like many of us today and are so busy, so connected and life moves so fast that the .07 seconds it takes for the web browser on your handheld device to come up is way too slow.  Perhaps you need to find those important things and as the Scriptures tell us, simply wait.  Increasingly hard to do today, but the simple act of waiting can create a peace and sweet spot in your life where answers are clearer, priorities are simpler, and life slows down.

I had a chance to listen to Olympian and Gold Medalist Apolo Ohno this week.  He said when he was in the “Zone” in a race, everything slowed down and he could hear the person behind him breathing.  Amazing feat at 30 + MPH and thousands of screaming fans.

So what is it for you?  Fear holding you back and keeping you waiting too long?  Or our “always on” society has you running and not waiting, not listening for those things that matter.  Only you know and only you can figure out what you’re waiting on.
